Monday July 23rd Los Angeles will be busting a move as Peter Rollins uses his magic wand for a LIVE taping of the Homebrewed Christianity podcast. During the conversation Rollin’s philosophical skills will demonstrate his love for the ‘how’ over the ‘what’ of ~~wand work~~ belief.

As if St. Nick arranged providential podcast hook ups… Diana Butler Bass will also be recording an episode of the podcast live. YES that means the very same audience will get to experience TWO podcasts by TWO amazing thinkers on the very same evening. If you haven’t signed up yet DO IT or St. Nick may think you are ungrateful for the podcast Christmas in July!

Hope there's some substantive dialogue between the two of them: in some ways their visions are very similar (e.g the reference to late Bonhoeffer), including others v. different... Am currently reading Diana BB's compelling 'Christianity after Religion' - one question that seems to haunt her, like Harvey. Cox, Phyllis Tickle, Barry Taylor, Gianni Vattimo and Moltmann back in the 60s, is the whole idea of a dawning of an 'Age of Spirit'. Would love to find out what Pete Rollins thinks about it... Does he follow those who dare to believe that the current Great Awakening about which Diana speaks has been instigated by the Spirit herself (e.g. Richard Rohr)? Or does he follow Zizek's ruthless demythologizing reduction of the Holy Spirit to the believing community as revolutionary collective?

@Da stand das Meer My guess is that Rollins would say it's a completely irrelevant choice--a question only asked by those hopelessly hung up on ontology (like me :)
