Process Theology in the Church

July 14, 2012 by Tripp Fuller 8 Comments

What happens when a Process theologian plants a church?  How does relational theology impact the way you organize worship gatherings or church structures?  Can there be a straight up real deal Process based church?  In this final special episode from the Emergent Village theological conversation you hear practicing Process ministers with Phds.

In this episode Bruce Epperly, Jeanyne Slettom, and Monica A. Coleman share about their Process theological wisdom as ministers who do ministry.  There is discussion of preaching, worship, the arts, and pastoral care…then some Q/A on a variety of theological topics.  Get ready for some fun and don’t forget to check out the other episodes from the Emergent Village theological conversation.

For your web designer...it took me about 10 minutes to realize that the tiny box that says "Audio MP3" was the podcast. Can you make it bigger?

@Rev_Gene Okay...I'm wondering about your burners, friend... Can you send something by or on 7/29?

@LisaColonDelay Yeah...got anything in mind...generally speaking? (I've been deep in resume job stuff last week or two, sorry)

Bo, did you say that 'O Boundless Salvation' was your favourite hymn? It's officially the favourite hymn of my entire denomination. I kid you not. In fact, the edition before the current one rearranged our whole hymnal so it could be number 1. (It was more recently rearranged a little more sensibly, and it was bumped to number 298. But everyone in the traditional streams of the Salvation Army knows that number well. And probably have had the song as a ring tone at some stage.)

Oh, and it works best if you're accompanied by a pipe organ *and* a full brass band, all seven verses. With flags waving. And timbrels banging. Trust me on this...

(Great episode too. I will be relistening!)

Very helpful for me as a ("Cobbian"!) pastor.

Tripp and Bo, Can you please record beer and hymns for me? I'm a huge AOF fan and I live in Australia so won't be at any of the wild goose things. Thanks. Chris
