Cornel West on Race in the Church and Society
By Tripp Fuller • Mar 2nd, 2009 • Category: engaging, media, politicsJamie Moffett just posted a great series of videos featuring Cornel West discussing race in the church and society. I have been a West fan since reading his famous book ‘Prophecy Deliverance,’ so if you dig these videos check the book out.
Tripp Fuller is married to an awesome lady Alecia and has a handsome little baby boy named Elgin Thomas (aka E.T.) and Pebbles, the Schnoodle. He and Alecia are both graduates of Campbell University (where they met), the Divinity School of Wake Forest University and ordained ministers. He is working on his PhD in Philosophy of Religion and Theology at Claremont Graduate University. A few other things he digs are books, cigars, pipes, Shaq, guitar, pirates, fishing, the Counting Crows, and good conversations about Religion and Politics. The podcast is the most time consuming hobby he has ever had besides reading and blogging through Wolfhart Pannenberg's 3 volume systematic theology. Follow Tripp on Twitter | Tripp on Facebook

Tripp,
Thought this was greatness. I may be in the minority of my friends – but I think what he says is greatness (and true to boot).
A few things that stood out…
“The black freedom struggle is the best example of bringing together the quest for unarmed truth and unconditional love in the face of American Terrorism for 400 years. Instead of a Black al-Qaeda you get Frederick Douglas and Martin Luther.”
I also appreciated how he talked about the difference between Jeremiah Wright and Martin Luther King – showing how King mixed love throughout his message.
Thanks for sharing these! I hope others will take the time to watch them as well.
Glad you enjoyed them. Dr West is a rather amazing speaker, thanks for sharing this work with your audience!
